Facebook is more or less the king of the world when it comes to social networking. It has exploded outwards which such speed as it allowed users to post their thoughts, images, join fan clubs, find long lost friends and create many a school reunion.
Intially, it was setup to allow only your friends view the content you had on Facebook. So you were safe in the knowledge that only people who you have accepted as friends on Facebook could view what you were doing.
All the different things you can do on Facebook like “Whats on your mind” posts, share images and videos where private by default. This changed last Dec 09. Now everything has changed to public meaning the entire web can view your Facebook information unless you change your settings.
At the time you would have received a prompt from Facebook advising you to switch your privacy settings. It was done automatically if you answered the question but there is no harm in viewing your settings every once in a while to make sure you have your settings under control.
Go to Settings in the top toolbar 
Click on Privacy Settings and you will see all the various options relating to your account.
Spend some time going down through the different options. In relation to the settings for Applications and Websites, this is something we touched on in our last post about “Stay Safe on Facebook“. This section contains information that your friends can share about you.
What this means is when your friends signup to use an application whether it’s a game or a birthday application, this application can view all your information because you are a friend of this friend. Even if you don’t use the same application or game, the fact that your friend does means your information is accessible by that application.
This means that the developers of this application can view the information aswell.
You can edit the settings in “What your friends share about you”
